I have:

$ qemu --version
QEMU emulator version 0.13.0, Copyright (c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard

And I ran these commands:

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=disk.img bs=10M count=1
1+0 records in
1+0 records out
10485760 bytes (10 MB) copied, 0.108013 s, 97.1 MB/s
$ qemu -drive file=disk.img,if=ide,media=disk \
	-cdrom ttylinux-i686-11.2.iso

And then started ttylinux with "ttylinux enet" and udhcpc
got an ip address. I check the boot messages with
"dmesg | grep eth0" and see the kernel messages where it
found an e1000 NIC. ifconfig shows both eth0 and lo.
