Re: [ttylinux:221] building ttylinux 10.0 with ubuntu 11.10

Hi,

now I try the next step and want to build ttylinux 10.0.
The kernel was build without problems, but the packages make problems.

I'm stepping with

sudo make _pkgs
I think you mean:
     $ sudo make pkgs_

First stop was lilo-32.2, there I had to install b86
Next stop was module-init-tools-3.16, there I installed docbook-utils
and help2man which let me move a little further, but now I see nothing
missing and the build stops with:

if [ -h ../doc/depmod.conf.sgml ]; then \
ln -s $(basename $(readlink ../doc/depmod.conf.sgml) .sgml).5
depmod.conf.5; \
elif [ "docbook2man" = "docbook2man" ]; then \
docbook2man ../doc/depmod.conf.sgml > /dev/null 2>&1; \
else \
docbook2man ../doc/depmod.conf.sgml 2>&1 > depmod.conf.5 | sed
's/^[^:]*://'; \
fi

Any ideas what's going wrong?
We've had this problem before. I always think it is fixed, and then
it comes back.

Look in this log file:
/ttylinux-build-10.0/var/log/module-init-tools-3.16.log
Near the end of that file should be the actual error. I am
curious if the "touch *.[58]" command (before the make) did
anything. I think that command is wrong for this version of
module-init-utils.

In the pkg-cfg/module-init-tools-3.16/bld.sh change the
"touch *.[58]" command on line 90 to be "touch build/depmod.conf.5"
and see if that gets any further in the build. You might need to add
several things to "touch" (which may be creating the file); see the
above error is for depmod.conf.5, there might be other like this.

Best Regards
Martin
